Lucia buns!
You heard me! Today we made Lucia buns! I know it's really not the right season to make them but do you guys think Americans (or Germans) know that? They just smile and say thanks! I love lucia buns!
This morning after taking the kids to school I got picked up by Svenny. We went to the UCC (union county collage) to see if there were any options for S to take her last 36 h. The best (cheapest) option was to take a class about wanting to become an American citizens, it was Only $ 169! She wouldn’t have to go there, just show her au pair organization the recite so they could see she had her last 36 h. Crazy!
But later when she called back to the UCC they told her the class was a credit class and she’d had to me present all the hours (which she first had in mind not having to). So the last option is now a weekend class. I’m going to go with her and we'll probably go in late March or mid April. It's going to be $ 350 for Svenja, which she has to pay herself since she already used the $ 500 for her first class (that’s all the families have to provide for the au pair). I the other hand haven't take any class yet so I'll get away whit paying nothing.
After visiting the UCC we went over to Svenjas bank to put in my money in her account, No I'm not being generous, I'm just paying for the Cancun trip, since I don't have any bank account myself Svenja usually pay stuff for me and then I'll give her cash. It works the other way to, she never have cash so I always provide her with cash to when needed.
Last stop was ShopRite where we got some stuff for the Lucia buns. When we got home I started making the buns while Svenja made us some brunch. Then I took a nap on the living room floor in front of the fireplace whit some blankets and the end of the movie "21". Sweet! I also tricked Svenjas into giving me a massage, awesomeness!

The German girl is trying to make Swedish work

Sooo proud

Piece of cake ;)

Ill mutcho mustacha' (need to practice on my wannabe spanish)
The whole day it's been pouring down outside, it just won’t stop raining, luckily though all the snow goes away. It do make me think about the Swedish weather witch i really, really doesn't miss at all! I picked up the kids, Annie is babysitting right now, going to pick her up in about half an hour. It's a bit funny I'm babysitting for someone who's also babysitting, just shows how old my kids are :P.
Today Janis had jury duty. She told it means her as a America citizens you have to stuff like that when you're asked to. She had to go there and then she and about 80 people have to answer questions from the lawyers of the case. Then the lawyers have to choose 14 (maybe it was 12) people who'll be in the jury for the case. For example they probably don't want someone who works as a lawyer (in real life) in the jury because they would know the laws to well. It's a bit confusing but I think I got it quite right now anyway. So tomorrow my host mum has to go there again and if she get chosen for the case she said it would be a 3-4 day long case (sometimes it can be a 3-4 week case so she hopes she get this one). I think it's kind of cool the whole thing. Back home we don't have this system at all, it's really like in an American movie and I can't believe I'm still so fascinated by American culture and people.
Now it's time to prepare for dinner, I'm making Thai today!
Catch you on the flip side!
